“No Welcome Mat for Imperialists” – Ciarán O’Brien
William Windsor, senior royal & second in line to the British throne “looking forward to building a lasting friendship with the Irish people” Britain’s Kensington Palace has said. The comments come in advance of a visit to Irish soil. William, erstwhile British Army officer and Air Force pilot, will meet with senior members of the 26 County establishment in the coming days.
Speaking regarding the upcoming visit, Lasair Dhearg spokesperson Ciarán O’Brien said that “Contrary to the message propagated by the establishment media, Republican opposition to Irish visits from British ‘Royalty’ is not based upon religious sectarianism or anti-English sentiment. It is instead based upon the unwavering Republican position of equality and anti-Imperialism.”
“The links between the British Royal family and the state’s armed forces are quite clear. Most senior Royals serve in the British military in some capacity or other, and every member of those armed forces swears an oath of allegiance to the ruling monarch before being shipped off to maintain Britain’s crumbling global empire.”
O’Brien said that, “There are those who would meet, and extend warm handshakes, with those ‘royals’ who are by birthright designated as the leadership of Britain’s Armed Forces. That same state and colonial power that maintains the occupation of Ireland’s Six Counties by force of arms.”
“This visit, facilitated by the 26 County state and others, is a critical part of Britain’s strategy of ‘normalisation’ in Ireland. The ‘normalisation’ process and strategy, publicly known, aims to present the continued occupation of part of Ireland as normal; it is designed to present Britain’s imposed border in our country as normal.”
“There can be no welcome mat for imperialists, ‘royal’ or otherwise. We oppose inherited privilege; we oppose the class system; and we firmly oppose British royal visits.”
“Britain out of Ireland.”
