This poster was developed into a new mural, situated on Lenadoon Avenue, in Republican West Belfast, and unveiled in July 2021 to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1981 Hungerstrike. Your purchase will ensure that those who died will be adequately remembered on the streets of the communities within which they battled it out with the occupation forces whilst fighting for Irish freedom.
Each poster is commissioned by a number of Republican ex-prisoners who knew many of the hunger strikers that died during the 1981 Strike - this is your opportunity to own a unique piece of Irish Republican history.
The poster features the ten hunger strikers, including the dates of their deaths and duration on the strike. Additionally, the background imagery features a number of iconic photographs from the struggle for Irish freedom including some more rare images retrieved from historical documents and which many will see for the very first time.
Poster will be delivered to Ireland, Britain and parts of Europe in a poster tube and other international destinations will receive poster in a hard backed envelope to ensure safe delivery and the lowest cost option for you.
